Ann Lislegaard

Lives and works in New York and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Ann Lislegaard works with video, sculptural installations and sound works. Her works are concerned with the notion of time, space and place and uses sound and light in spatial/architectural constructions to reflect on our orientation. Her soundworks often focus on auditory perception as fundamentallly distinct from visual perception. Sound is, in contrast to visuals, possible to pick up from different sources and from all directions, even from behind, still with a distinct starting point. Ann Lislegaard also works with sound that transports the listener to an imaginary space, creating a situation where the listener is imaging herself being in somebody else’s place.
