Anna Saksman
Finland, b. 1979.
Degree Programme in Performing Arts, Theatre and Applied Drama, Turku Polytechnic, Arts Academy, 2005.
First sound art work: Kurkisauna, Sound meditation about finding one’s own voice, 2004.
For me, voice, movement and dance are the basic instruments for my true self. Expression through voice and body is force beyond concepts. It can also be understood as meditation, as listening to myself.
I've worked with a voice art group called Taive, in Turku, Finland. It's a group of women studying, playing and performing with voice. Taive had its first two premieres at the poetry festival “Turun Runoviikko 2006” in Turku: Jaana-kulta, herää jo, director Anna Saksman, and Koh-Talossa, director Lotta Laaksonen.
Currently I work as a voice book reader and sing in a singing group called Parku http://www.oranssi.net/irma/parku.
I study and do Reiki and I´ll start my studies in Dance Therapy in Jyväskylä Polytechnic in October 2008.
