In the artistic work of Annika Lundgren storytelling is an important component. She deals with the difference of reality and fiction, often slipping between them. Her work has a social orientation, often as events as in the piece One Woman Radio, 1998, a two hour long, pre-produced radio show, created specifically for an American audience. Exaggerating the dry and informative style and manner of the Swedish radio channel P1, One Woman Radio was designed to stand out in sharp contrast to commercial American main-stream radio. In correlation with the title, the artist occupies all roles involved; host, studio-guests, reporters, interview-objects, callers etcetera. She holds lectures as part of her artistic practice and has a number of ongoing projects, e.g. the Public Educational Tours.
