- The fleeting, frayed and fluid reality gets social competence in an abstract room.
- The soft, smooth, white rhytme throw itself into the reality of everydays dogma
- The coincidents of everyday life is creating spaces in the sound atmosphere.
- The source of sounds gets elektric shock.
When she develops fictive emotional space, she uses recorded sounds to get the listener close to the space and gives the sound work an expressive attitude. She also uses passive and active sounds to create the tension between the emotional and the concrete space in rhythm and words.
Astrid Lomholt’s work reveals a fascination with sounds and sound qualities. It is a balance between art, music and an examination of social behaviour. She is fascinated by making invisible social attitudes visible through the use of concrete elements, often phrased in words and images. In the abstract she uses aesthetic values, with references to music and movies.
She cooperates with sound artist Tanja Schlander. They have been working in the form of concert and spontaneous use of sound, e.g. at the Distortion festival in Copenhagen in 2005.
She has participated in exhibitions like Copenhagen Kunsthal, Nagano Indies film festival in Japan, and worked with performance artists at Plex in CPH and with the gallery 'Aire Play'. At the jazz festival 2006 she had a live session named **Three Fold and her latest video work is going to Damascus.
Astrid Lomholt is in 2008 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde.
