Elisabeth Brodin

B. 1959 in Sweden, grew up in Barcelona.

Elisabeth Brodin is a professional dancer. In the late 80s, she got in touch with Audio Gruppe and its founder, the artist Benoit Maubray. Brodin became its leading member, and she developed the choreography and the artistic use of Maubray’s invention, based on combinations of dance and different forms of sounding accessories. She created a number of Audio Ballerina’ most well known works, performed around the world. In Audio Ballerinas, she also created several solo pieces of her own, including the ringing tutu, where sampled music was altered by hand movements and light sensors into an electroacoustic improvisation. Her collaboration with Maubray ended in 1999.
