Eva Dal Norlind
Sweden, b. 1959 in Gothenburg. Lives in Gerlesborg. Works in Sweden and Norway.
Larssons academy of theatre Larssons Theatre 1988-1994 in Gothenburg, voice, rhythm and physical acting.
First sound project: 1998 Eva and the country girls – “shamanian schlagers” (buttersongs) – a mixture of cut-ups (modern poetry, evergreens) and sampled voices from a live loopmachine, Boomerang.
My sound poetry works, improvisations and compositions, are mostly “live” – I like the “now or never” situation; the concentration, the timing and presence = energy. Inspirations: Dadaism, Sufic poetry and rhythm, old mouth music.
Latest project: GADUSCH! – a collaboration between a visual artist, a set designer, two actors, a director and a musician from Norway and Sweden. GADUSCH! will become a stage performance created through workshops and other experiments. We’ll use manipulated “ready mades” in a dialogue with voices and physical acting, e.g. Soundshower and Eggslicerbanjo. GADUSCH! is body, picture, sound, rhythm, room, voice and poetry. The project is sponsored by VG Regionen, Framtidens kultur in Sweden and National working grant for young artists in Norway.
Collaborations: Michael Norlind (performer), Carmen Olsson (danser/ butoh), Per Lilienberg, (artist) Harald Svensson (komposer and musician), David Sperling (actor, musician), Sören Larsson (director), Putte Helene Dal (visualartist), Silje Steinsvik (set designer), Henrik Wartel (musician), Gunnel Samuelsson (musician), Michele Collins (performer)
