Hanna Maria Anttila

Finland, b. 1974 in Savonlinna. Lives and works in Helsinki.

MFA from The School of Visual Arts, Master of Fine Arts Department of Photography, Video and Related Media, New York (2001-2003) and The Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Time and Space Based Art, Helsinki (1996-2002).

First sound work: Okay Rosie (1999)

Moving pictures and sound are the elements of my installation based work. I sculpt time and space in order to redefine the experience of physical and psychological distance; examine longing in intimate ways. Typical characteristics of my work are seductive imagery, clarity of form and precise punctuation.
