Inger Arvidsson
Sweden, b. 1951.
During all my 35 years of artistic activities, I have worked with a wide range of things. My driving force is curiosity in different media and materials, but also my interest in art that includes image, sound, light – a comprehensive effect.
Through Fylkingen I met choreographers, performance artists, composers, and musicians. In the 80s I built sound sculptures, some of them you could play as an instrument, some contained sounds. I performed in dance and performance acts, and made the sound for a dance performance, clattering with buckets, rattling with peas. I made picture sequences for dance performances as well as for purely image/sound-settings. I did stage design for modern free dance. Together with three other women I ran DK, a gallery and meeting spot.
My network from that time still exists, and we run across each other in different constellations.
