1984-89 University of Oslo, Natural Science Department, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biochemistry.

First sound art work after education: Will be removed by the authorities 1996 (in collaboration with Trond Kvist).

Sound has taken a predominant place in my work since 1992. In my sound installation work I have primarily been concerned with interactions with the audience and the acoustics of a space. Since 2004 I have been touring with an interactive sensor instrument, The art of walking on water, made in collaboration with Jørgen Træen and Trond Lossius. Also in colaboration with Trond Lossius: Quiet and relaxed but alert for the exhibition "The Idea of North" Galleri F15, curated by Ballongmagasinet.

Hard Rain, an interactive sound installation based on video tracking, was exhibited at “The Idea of North”, Canada (2006) and in "Up2Date", Electron, Netherlands.

I am part of the sound installation project freq_out curated by Carl Michael von Hausswolff shown recently at Sonambiente, Berlin (2006), Chiang Mai Fine Art Museum (2007) and at Dreamlands Burn, Budapest (2007).

I have worked as a producer/curator of independent art projects e.g.: 12 Nights (1996-99), Street Level (2000) with Pfelder, Motlyd (2001) a sound art festival in collaboration with Maia Urstad and Jørgen Træen. In 2004 I produced freq_out 2 at Henie Onstad Artcenter, and at Atelier Nord in Oslo I produced the Generator.x conference and Bandrom3 (2005) and Interface and Society productions (2006).

"I like the immateriality of a sound work and the openness it can have for both associative and direct experience and sensory perception. I have been occupied with finding sounds from unseen sources of sound, like "blind field recordnings". The last year I has collected sounds by hydrophone recordings, from rivers, shores and the ocean, recently also from glaciers in Iceland and Norway. I am also experimenting with different types of microphones to collect sounds which are not obviosly recognisable, but gives room for broader, imaginative readings.

I use these sounds as source material to compose with in live situations or creates installation situations where the audience can play with distortions and processing of the sounds.”

At present 2007/2008 I am developing a multichannel installation for the Grieg07 project and a CD release on Ash International(UK) based on hydrophone recordings.
