Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg

Denmark, b. 1973.

 

Best known for her activities in the critically acclaimed Danish/British/Japanese band, Blue Foundation.

During the last couple of years, she began to create electro-acoustic music as a solo artist as well, parallel with her activities in the band.

 

In her compositions, Kirstine unites songwriting and electronical sound-manipulation. She works up organic sounds in her computer and mixes them with harmonies, melodies and words. Her music has been described as: “filigree-like” (Citadel, sept. 04), “rewarding”, “fragile”, “beautiful” (Berlingske Tidende, sept. 04).

 

Besides several cd/vinyl releases with Blue Foundation, Kirstine has composed music for theatre, modern dance, Danish and American film and TV, and has performed her own compositions solo in e.g., Berlin, London and Copenhagen. Currently, Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg is working on the third album of Blue Foundation (Virgin/EMI), (to be re-leased in the fall 07), and an album release of her solo material.
