Composer, soundartist and performer, member of the danish composers society.

Since 1995 initiater to, composing for and participating in theater, dance, musical, performance, radio and television. She has published 2 cds, FUTH – a mass for the nordic god Baldur in oldnorse for 2 voices; and TRIFF – electroacoustic vocalwork in three parts in ”nonsense”

Line Tjørnhøj is in charge of the interdisciplinary art laboratorium: ”reality” for mezzosoprano: Truike van der Poel, double bass: Irina-Kalina Goudeva, dancer on prepared breakfasttable: SU-EN, live processed visuals: Barbara Bays, live processed audio: Line Tjørnhøj; commisioned for the KALV – festival, Sweden to be presented 11 of august 2007.

Line Tjørnhøj work with voices and sounds crossing, borders of style, tradition, expression and estetics. She has worked with a broad varity of singers from jazz, etno, opera, bulgarian women, throatsingers and Roy Hart trained singers.

Her works is praised for originality, beaty, extraordinary ”extendended vocal techniques” and personal expression. A musicality that transcend our intellect and talks directly into our body and intuition.

Line Tjørnhøjs music is closely connected to language sounds – from phonems over understandeble poetry, to old languages like latin, oldgreek, old german, old norse and ”non sense”.

She also works with a very delicat live electronic processing, with stage props sounds and with letting the music it self ”staging” the work, as well as cooperation with live visual artist and body artist.
