First sound piece: CHIME OF BELLS 1997.
Sound has the power to bring even the most unfocused mind into the situation. I put awareness of the present together with more spread-around-over-time topics like feminism, adaptation and labour market.
My most recent sound piece: A MESSAGE FROM SIMONE, Ystad Museum of Art, OSTSEEBIENNALE DER KLANGKUNST 2006 consists of 18 wooden-boxes with live crickets. On the lid of every box is a drawing and a text inspired by random reading of THE SECOND SEX by Simone de Beauvoir. When the crickets within a box containing special meaning begin to sing, its content becomes a message to the person present. Crickets have a life span of thirty days. Does the ending of the cricket choir increase the experience of the present?
CHIME OF BELLS, Wanås Castle, ETT DRÖMSPEL 1997 is a film. I had two small bells attached to my piercing rings that went through my genital. To the sound of church bells ringing at Wanås Church I performed a dance. I had a white dress on so you could not actually see the bells, you had to listen.
