“Something that defines a great artist is the will to change, and to seek new ways of expression. Sofia Härdig is such an artist. The will to change directions, involving herself in totally different projects and environments makes her art constantly moving. She does not care whether the sound is ‘rock’, ‘noise’, ‘electronica’, or just sounds. The sound is essential. The sound of her voice, a guitar, or a sample filtered and processed beyond recognition. She has performed as a solo artist, with her rockband The Needles, with duo project The Happiest Girl In The World and with the experimental trio Trio Switzerland.

She has also performed at various ad hoc sessions with well known free-form and experimental artists as well as made sound-art installations.

Her music and art is challenging because it is moving, and constantly changes directions. And because she does not care for holding on to a ‘concept’ or a ‘sound’ that works.

She dares to challenge both herself and her listeners, and that is what defines her music and her art.”
