I normally work as a performer but during the last years I turned away from this to dig into the pure sound, sound that can stand for it self.
Previously I was into concerts and performances based on the recordings of my ever-shifting surroundings captured by a lo-fi Dictaphone with normal cassette tapes. I am a collector of specific types of sound like trains, traffic, dinner tables, dogs and discotheques. I record the local atmosphere and hook up with a local electronic musician for the actual performance, to discover the beat of the city, the (produced) sound of the country in particular and to discuss the quality created by this combination of different elements in our work. (Her/His beat production and my field recordings.)
Now working at the Separation Wall in Israel/Palestine, and I really like the process. More slow, less Rock’n’roll. But it is still noise, the sound of every day life and the texture of my surroundings that is my primary material.
My aim is to produce noise with no disturbing noises around, like me crawling the floor during a performance.
