Finland, b. 1975 in Lohja, based in Helsinki.

1996-01 Study program in Acupuncture, Helsinki

1997-03 MFA, Time and Space Department, Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki

2000-01 Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Hamburg (Prof. Cosima von Bonin), Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Braunschweig (Prof. Marina Abramovic).

 

Working with video, performance and events, Kalleinen constructs slightly twisted situations in which interaction can happen. Most of her works are participatory and based on creative collaboration. Since 2003 she works in cooperation with artist Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen.

 

The Complaints Choir is a widely made work, where a choir of people sing out collected complaints from their city, in cooperation with local musicians and composers.
