Vivi Christensen

Denmark, b. 1962. Lives and works in Odense.

1996-2001 The Academy of Visual Art Funen, Denmark.

First soundwork: 2001 Music-videoinstallation with 3 video screens. Close-up shootings of my mother, my daughter and me, singing Mother do you love me. Copenhagen.

Visual artist working with painting, words and music.

My works are based on feelings from everyday life, dreams, identity, sexuality, nature and fantasy.

Selected exhibitions/projects:

2003 I sing a song for you Go to the Street. In two days I went to 6 cities in Denmark with a wagon, with paintings of my 10-year-old son and me. I sang for people I met, a song made for my son.

2004 Mopedsongs with Tine Louise Kortermand. Dressed in gold and on mopeds with loudspeakers we spread songs to the people. We had composed 12 duets for moped and vocal, danced with the engines and used the engines as background music. People we met could pick a song.

2006 Porcelainwagon with Camilla Gaugler. 4 songs about fragility. In self-made porcelain dresses, and a wagon with porcelain we went out singing our songs.

2006 A room of ones own Exhibition with paitings, words made of pearls, and 5 songs about sexuality. Inspired by the Author Virginia Woolf.

2007 SPEAK UP Exhibition with 23 artists where words are the theme. Of every kind, in paint, poetry, sound ...

RU HIMMEL featuring Hans Thygesen, guitar and Vivi Christensen, vocal. Lyrics in a eksperimental magical soundsphere.
