First sound work: Muted or Stunted? 2000.
I use sound as a medium to explore strategies of performative narratives. Based on fictional and found historical narratives, I construct a factional account that addresses different forms of story telling strategies and our construction of histories.
Paris+English=Parish, is a video using three male voices. The overlapping of voices forbids easy comprehension, while the repetition allows certain sentences to be heard.
Stemmata is a 12 mins video where the sound source is constructed as a parallel narrative to the image and text; such that image, text, and sound are separate components that are juxtaposed to combine a coherent whole.
