 Ewa Jacobssonnr 2

B. 1956 in Sweden. Lives in Norway.

Royal Danish Academy of Arts, Copenhagen. School of Arts and Craft, Konstfackskolan, Stockholm. Teaterstudions Grutowskij school, Stockholm. Vuxenskolans Art School, Uppsala. Also some education in classical piano and vocal.

First sound art work: Chrystal Pigs etc (1983)

Exhibitions, installations, performance and pure sound art or visuel art.

Concrete sound has been part of my artwork since the beginning. My old tape recorders and recordings are still in use, in combination with sampler, computer and (in live works) the acoustic sounds of voice and objects.

I have experimented with voice and soundtape – in combinations live and tape – objects, acting and fragments of text.

The combination of visual art’s conceptual thinking, and duration/form in composition, is my way into sound over the paths of many recor.

The scene which is chosen for an exhibition or event decides what kind of work and process I begin. The real room for the productions, environmental settings and time is the background for titles like ”Contemporary Lies”, ”Combinations of Truth” and ”To Confirm A Real Room”.

The actual room decided the installations in the old decayed Monastry of Plasy, Czeck Republic (”Plasy Pickles”) or in the huge Turbine hall in Tyssedal at the Museum of Norwegian Watercraft ("LE BONHEUR").
